Choir Biography
The Mosaic Youth Chorus serves diverse youth aged 11 to 19 of all backgrounds and identities from across the Lehigh Valley. Membership is open to all who love to sing and wish to use their voices for positive change. MYC was founded in 2023 by parents and community leaders who envisioned a choir where young people of diverse backgrounds could discover their voices, connect across differences, and create meaningful change through music.
The choir has been widely acclaimed for its high level of musical performance and recognized by funders for its commitment to artistry, community, and education. MYC values collaboration with community partners across the Lehigh Valley.
Collaborations have included the 2025 Youth Climate Summit at the Nurture Nature Center in Easton, PA; benefit concert for the James Lawson Freedom School in Allentown, PA; Summer Sing with the Lehigh Valley Chorale, and benefit concert for the Bethlehem Freezer Ministry.
Performance tours are linked to annual programming and have included Costa Rica to experience the rainforest following programming related to climate change, and Ellis Island, New York City, and Jim Thorpe extending programming related to the immigrant experience. Parents regularly comment on the broad educational experience of their chorister’s participation in MYC.
MYC was honored to receive the 2025 Chorus America Award for Education and Community Engagement.
